Our video arcade and toy chest go a long way to making the right impression with our younger patients but that's just the beginning. Dr. Douglas has always loved working with children (he would have to with four of his own) and he prides himself on providing a caring, positive environment for families.

 

Dr Douglas makes a point of seeing children from the age of two and a half. He carries out all examinations and cleanings himself until the child is 7 years old. By doing so, Dr. Douglas is able to build trust between the child and himself so that he isn't the “bad guy” you see when something goes wrong. This way, when they need treatment, children are already comfortable with Dr. Douglas and will trust him enough to allow the work to be carried out. Please note that Dr. Douglas never uses sedation to achieve this; just plenty of work to earn children's trust.​
